Who we are
About Flourish Schools
Flourish Schools is a social enterprise established by Caring Cooks of Jersey to deliver school food services through government and school contracts.
Our purpose is twofold. To provide safe, reliable and well managed school food provision across Jersey, and to generate sustainable income that supports the charitable work of Caring Cooks
Why Flourish Schools Exists
School food plays an important role in children’s health, learning and wellbeing. In Jersey, childhood obesity and poor diet remain ongoing challenges, while packed lunches can vary widely in quality and often rely on processed foods.
Flourish Schools provides a standards led alternative. By delivering regulated school food provision at scale, we help reduce reliance on unhealthy lunchboxes and support healthier eating during the school day.
A Social Enterprise Model
As a trading subsidiary of Caring Cooks of Jersey, Flourish Schools operates on a social enterprise model. Income generated through government and school contracts is reinvested to support Caring Cooks’ education programmes in primary schools.
This approach combines commercial discipline with social purpose, ensuring contracts are delivered professionally while contributing to wider positive outcomes for children and families across the Island.
Standards, Safety and Partnership
Flourish Schools operates within clear nutritional, food safety and safeguarding frameworks. Menus are developed in line with School Food Standards and, in primary schools, in collaboration with Public Health.
Food safety underpins everything we do. Our kitchens and service sites are regularly inspected, with ongoing training, strong Food Safety ratings and clear procedures for hygiene, allergens and safeguarding.
We work closely with the Government of Jersey, Public Health and schools to deliver practical, compliant and dependable school food provision.
